Ignasi is Head of the Research Unit at the University of Barcelona's Learning and Research Resources Centre (CRAI) where he also directs the Office for the Dissemination of Knowledge. He is currently chairing the Board of SPARC Europe. He is member of the Steering Committee of the Info and Open Access Policy Group at the LERU (League of European Research Universities). He is the co-author of the LERU Roadmap for Research Data and the LERU Roadmap on Open Science. He is currently a member of the Working Group on Open Sicence at the CRUE (Spanish National Rectors Conference). He led the introduction of the Creative Commons project in Spain where he has been a leader since 2003. He was a member of the Board of the Open Courseware Consortium and a member of the Administrative Council of Communia, an International Association on the Pubic Domain. Ignasi holds a PhD in Physics.
